Arabic Calligraphy Workshop: Art and Heritage | Organized by the American Society of Civil Engineers

The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) organized a remarkable workshop on Arabic calligraphy and its history on Sunday, October 6, 2024, in collaboration with calligrapher Hana Hamarsheh, the owner of the Hana Calligraphy House. The workshop covered various topics, including the evolution of Arabic calligraphy through the ages, its significance in Arab and Islamic cultural heritage, and techniques for mastering different styles of Arabic script. Participants also learned how to enhance their skills, whether they were beginners or professionals.

The workshop aimed to raise awareness of the importance of Arabic calligraphy as a traditional art form that reflects the identity of Arab society. It also provided participants with practical basics of calligraphy and empowered them to improve their skills. In her comments on the workshop, ASCE President Heba Masri emphasized the society's commitment to organizing cultural workshops that strengthen students' connection to their cultural heritage.
